Vida Veda

Vida Veda is a social enterprise dedicated to sharing Ayurvedic knowledge in Portuguese. Its founder, Matheus Macêdo, is the first Brazilian to graduate with a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) in India. He is a vaidya (Ayurvedic physician), teacher, and international speaker. He is affiliated with the Ayurveda Academy in Bangalore and completed clinical residencies at Vaidyagrama Hospital in Coimbatore, as well as at various clinics in India and the USA. Today, he lives in India and is pursuing a master’s degree in Ayurveda along with a clinical residency in Shalakya Tantra at ITRA (Institute for Teaching and Research in Ayurveda).

Vida Veda was born from the dream of bringing Ayurvedic knowledge to as many people as possible, so that everyone can benefit from this ancient wisdom. But what exactly is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is humanity’s oldest scientific system of medicine, based on clinical guidelines documented in ancient texts that have undergone continuous peer review over millennia. In treatments, the individual is analyzed holistically — meaning that rather than just treating symptoms, the Ayurvedic practitioner seeks the root cause of the problem, which may be physical, mental, or emotional. This holistic understanding of the human being also makes Ayurveda a precision medicine.
